Quick Colour Tips

Here’s a few quick colour tips for InDesign cs. Always handy to know how to work more efficient, save time and go to the movies instead.

Adding a tint swatch

The quickest method to add a tint swatch:

click colour tint in colour palette added tint swatch in swatches palette

Select the swatch for which you wish to create a tint swatch, ensure the colour palette is visible, set the tint percentage, then click the New Colour Swatch icon in the swatches palette.

Importing colours from other InDesign documents

To add selected colours from Document A to Document B:
a) Drag and drop relevant swatches from swatches palette Document A onto Document B.
b) Select New Colour Swatch > Other Library > Navigate to Document A and select colours.

To add all colour swatches from Document A to Document B:
c) Select Load Swatches from the Swatches Fly-out Menu and locate Document A.
