Happy New Year

By Cari Jansen | January 10, 2006

Ten days into the new year already. Happy New Year everyone!

I’ve had a nice holiday of just over two weeks, in which I spent most of my time walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, dining and in the cinema. Naturally the computer wasn’t forgotten…

I created a video New Years iPod video and started a Dutch-language blog newsletter for my pals and family back in Holland.

I’ve created my first video podcast Tutorial (QuickTime movie), using QuickTime Pro and VODCaster. I’ll add the podcast feed as soon as I’ve published this one :-) The sound quality is pretty bad, due to the fan in my laptop going crazy with the hot weather here and using the internal microphone, which really doesn’t provide adequate quality for the sound. I must look into a better solution for that, possibly a head-set.

In case you’re not aware of this yet: Both iTunes and QuickTime are available for Windows 2000 and XP as well :-)

On the work front, I’m working on development of XML run-in templates in InDesign for a client. It is amazing how much you can do with XML and repeating elements, without the need for scripting! I love this stuff, and think the use of XML in conjunction with InDesign doesn’t get enough coverage.
