Finally got network working with the Linux box this morning. Have already realised that learning to work with Linux and related apps will be a very time consuming task

I noticed that using Firefox on SUSE Linux, gave some serious problems with viewing this web-site. Fonts were defaulting to Courier, so I have amended the CSS-file and now things look much more normal
