Adobe Premiere Elements 3
By Cari Jansen | October 31, 2006
With a background in Print and Publishing, I am totally new to anything audio and video. Where I’m used to terms related to print technology such as "cmyk" or "resolution", I’m now encountering new terminology… codec… bitrate… and new file formats.
Over the past few days I’ve taken up the challenge of giving my podcast a new jacket. Whereas prior to today, the video tutorials were movies generated through screen capture on the Mac using Snapz Pro X and Apple’s QuickTime Pro, the following podcast - a trial run really -, was created using (1) Snapz Pro X on the mac for the screencapture, (2) Photoshop CS2 on PC for creation of stills and (3) Adobe Premiere Elements 3 for narration, adding of sound effects and overall collage as well as export.
Although the terminology encountered in Premiere Elements is still largely foreign to me… I am astonished to see how user-friendly this software is. Adobe really has done a great job in developing this a product for mums, dads, kids and other home-users.
