Hi Rick,

Am not aware of one existing.

If you provide me with a list of commands for which you are looking in InDesign I'd be quite happy to dedicate a blog-post to this and continue to add to it over time :-)

Cheers,

Cari

Hi, Cari. I'm looking for a comparision chart that shows the InDesign commands vs. Publisher commands. Is there such a thing?

Thanks, Rick

Hi Annie,

It's always difficult to give an exact learning curve for InDesign conversion, as it does depend the person, prior skill level in other application etc.

For an Advanced Publisher user the first task would be:
* To learn how to do what you 'know' from Publisher in InDesign.

That's something you could adopt to in a day or two...

The second and in my opinion equally if not more important step would be:
* To learn where InDesign's advanced capabilities and features can improve your current Publisher productivity.

That's something that generally comes with additional training and more experience with InDesign.

What you could do is start with say 2 days starter training for InDesign, then continue with another 2 days advanced training targeted at your publications

Advantage would be that you'll have templates and files to work with that are part of your production work and you'll be come more familiar on how to use InDesign whilst working with your own files.

Hope this helps. - Cari

I came across this post RE: publisher users switching to InDesign. Can you tell me what the learning curve might be for advanced-users of Publisher to InDesign? I currently work exclusively in PUB but would like to make the switch. Thing is, I wonder if I NEED to in order to be more marketable.

Thoughts? Thanks!
