About
Cari Jansen works as Senior Solutions Consultant for Typefi Systems. She is an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI), Adobe Ambassador and Founder & Chapter Representative of the Perth InDesign User Group. She holds a BSc in Communication and Information Technology, and is an expert in number of Adobe applications including Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Cari is a frequent speaker at conferences, seminars, workshops around Australia and delivers eSeminars for Adobe Systems Australia.
Starting her career in the early 1980s as compositor, reproduction photographer and neg.prep/imposition-specialist, Cari first became familiar with Adobe software during the change-over to digital desktop publishing systems in the late 1980s. She completed studies in conventional prepress technologies (compositing, reproduction photography) as well as prepress and print management (order management, marketing, product planning) and therefor has a strong print publishing background.
Prior to migrating to Australia in October 1995, Cari worked as prepress manager for a graphic design / printing firm in the Rijswijk, the Netherlands. She has since completed here Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment, over 16 Adobe Certification exams and a Communication & Information Technology degree, with a major in Records Management and Computer Science electives.
Prior to her employment by Typefi Systems, Cari ran her own professional services business for over 12 yrs working as Professional Services Consultant and Instructor. She’s worked on development of unique course materials, delivered training with a focus on onsite and tailored training delivery, assisted many organisations with QuarkXPress to InDesign transitions and delivered workshops, seminars for Adobe Systems and Mogo Media around Australia.
Cari has over the past 14 years developed a great working relationship within the Australian Design, Print, Publishing industry, as well as the Corporate community, and continuous to volunteer her time and expertise with her blog-posts and online tutorials and work for the InDesign User Group community. She has a passion for creative software, in particular Adobe applications and has a special interest in preservation of digital records, publishing workflow automation, XML and other geeky stuff.
When Cari’s not working, blogging or tweeting you will find her out and about, swimming, (bush)walking, jogging, hanging out with friends, shopping, watching a movie, going out for a meal or on the couch at home reading a book or chatting (Skype/Facebook) with friends and family around the world.
